Color, Blackwater Falls, WV

P1050463To continue on my themes of wildflowers and color, I had my camera along when we took a day hike at Blackwater Falls State Park in West Virginia.  The rhododendrons were opening.  We spent the morning hiking on one of the far trails of the park, in solitude.  The masses of day-trippers and motorcycle clubs stopped at the view for the falls, had some ice cream and gifts, then headed out to the road again.

About hermitsdoor

Up here in the mountains, we have a saying, "You can't get there from here", which really means "We wouldn't go the trouble to do that". Another concept is that "If you don't know, we ain't telling." For the rest, you'll have to read between the lines.

Beautiful flowers! And there’s nothing better than a good waterfall!

I could definitely imagine myself sitting on one of the rocks and just gawking at the beautiful views there. Beautiful photos, Oscar.

Does your company have any job rotations in the Washington, D.C. area? If so, we are only 2.5 hours west. I could show those rocks, and many more. Enjoy your travels.

Have enjoyed the photos of the wild flowers both East and West Coasts! /The falls aren’t the ones we saw many years ago. West Virginia has some hidden treasures.
