The High Sierras, Wildflowers, Blue & Purple

Showy Penstemon

Showy Penstemon

We came upon these blue to purple colored wildflowers in June. We were hiking in the Eastern Sierra Nevada Mountains at Rock Creek Lake, Devil’s Postpile to Rainbow Falls, Bodie State Historic Park, Panum Crater and Mono Lake, and over Tioga pass.

About hermitsdoor

Up here in the mountains, we have a saying, "You can't get there from here", which really means "We wouldn't go the trouble to do that". Another concept is that "If you don't know, we ain't telling." For the rest, you'll have to read between the lines.

    Great photos!

I am enjoying all of your wildflower posts and think I will show them to Mom since she enjoys wild flowers so much. I am also learning more from your religious discussions.

  4. Wonderful photo of that jay! I think you got every type of lupine there ever was. I’ll have to look more carefully and notice the differences 😉
