About hermitsdoor

Up here in the mountains, we have a saying, "You can't get there from here", which really means "We wouldn't go the trouble to do that". Another concept is that "If you don't know, we ain't telling." For the rest, you'll have to read between the lines.

Ow wow! You are so lucky. That’s a big one on my bucketlist.

Suggestion for photography and crowds: Take the bus mid-morning (after the crowds have piled on earlier), and take it to the last stop (#10). Hike directly to Rainbow Falls, which has the best reflections (e.g. rainbows on the fall’s mist) mid-day when the light enters the falls that correct angle. Then hike to Devil’s Postpile, which will have the sun on it (when we were there at 10:30 the cliff was back-light) and the crowds will all be hiking to Rainbow Falls. You can then take the bus back from stop #6.
