Quiz time. Can anyone guide me to the monument to Theodore Roosevelt in Washington, D.C.? You can probably name, and find, at least the Lincoln, Washington, and Jefferson monuments, with extra credit for George Mason. Maybe the WWII, Korean, and Vietnam Memorials, with extra credit for the WWI Veterans from D.C. But, few may realize that Theodore Roosevelt has a whole island in the Potomac River set aside for him. Granted, you have to go to Virginia to cross a foot bridge over to the island, and the natural landscape for which Teddy Roosevelt was famous surrounds his monument, so you cannot actually see it until you come around a curving path, up a slope. But, if you take the time to walk there, you will enter the stone plaza with fountains and bridges, his statue and monoliths engraved with his pithy sayings.NATURE
