We are back in Washington, D.C. for a family event. Our hotel this time was just blocks from the Iwo Jima Memorial next to Arlington Cemetary. Though the winter cold snaps have been keeping the temperatures in the teens, we still got our for our sunrise solitude walks around mounments that are usually teaming with tourists. The first morning, we walked over a freeze covering of snow to the Iwo Jima Memorial. The camera protested after only two photos, closed it’s lense and would not offer any more battery power. With recharged batteries, we returned the next day. The stiff breeze and wind-chill was gone, allowing my fingers to operate the camera for a little longer.
