Two Pots of Coffee; Two Bottles of Wine

My apologies to my regular readers, and recent subscribers, for not visiting your blogs recently.  We have family visiting through the end of the week.  In the mean time, take my poll to see what we add to the grocery list when visiters stay with us.  You should be able to tick off as many items as you wish.  Leave a comment for items that I did not think to put on the list (my wife will).  See, you next week.

About hermitsdoor

Up here in the mountains, we have a saying, "You can't get there from here", which really means "We wouldn't go the trouble to do that". Another concept is that "If you don't know, we ain't telling." For the rest, you'll have to read between the lines.

  1. Barneysday says:

With that much company, you are going to need a lot more than two bottles of wine, plus whatever you choose to share with your guests.

  2. Mother Suzanna says:

All of the above. BUT that’s just for one day!!! It is fortunate your love your families! That’s a mighty lot of cooking…which you do all too well. No wonder family and friends enjoy visiting the mountain.

  3. So glad to see your wonderful tile backsplashes.

    • hermitsdoor says:

Ah, I had not even thought about those tiles behind the coffee pot (and Two Honey Due Mellons)! Those have vegetables on them. Good eye (or do you just have tiles on your mind?)

  4. The Vicar says:

I picked wine because I haven’t seen a “farm life” segment on making wine so I’m guessing that you haven’t clear space on the mountain for a vineyard yet. The rest you probably have in the garden or in the deep freeze.

    • hermitsdoor says:

What do you think the locals make out of “wineberries” (remember that July that you picked those until your fingers were red and arms prickly?) We can serve Two pots of Tea also.

  5. Chet says:

I don’t see baseball tickets on the list…
As a family member who just enjoyed your hospitality, I can say what amazing an amazing host you are. I count myself fortunate to be one of the family members who has been recently entertained.
