Farm Life: County Fair Food

It’s county fair season again.  Usually, this time of year we are sweltering at the FFA Stock Sale with 95* and 95% humidity.  This leaves little appetite until later in the evening.  However, this year, a cool weather system moved in, giving us 70*.  Time to stuff one’s self at the fair.  View the photos and then vote for what you would nash on.  I think that I set up the poll such that you can vote for as many items as you wish.  Happy indigestion!

About hermitsdoor

Up here in the mountains, we have a saying, "You can't get there from here", which really means "We wouldn't go the trouble to do that". Another concept is that "If you don't know, we ain't telling." For the rest, you'll have to read between the lines.

  1. Barney says:

My big favorite at the local state fair is huge, gooey cinammon roles. To die for!

There’s nothing like the indigestion that comes from state fair food!

  2. mj monaghan says:

I’m with Barney – if you don’t get indigestion, you didn’t eat fair-food! Now there’s everything deep-fried – snickers even.

  3. The Vicar says:

The lamb is pretty cute, but I wouldn’t know what to do with it. However, eating a Greek Gyros from Lenny’s trailer might be a little hard after going to the auction. Give me a Chicken Pita please!

  4. A poll!!! I love it!!!!!!! Thanks so much – you’ve made my day. Interesting how the results are very scattered – everybody has their own faves.
But why, exactly, does it have to be Ice Cream Kone. I propose a new poll to suggest spelling changes. My vote is either misspell it all (Eye-s Kream Kone) or do it right. Leaving just one word misspelled just makes you wonder.

  5. The sausage is still in the lead – ??@%$++???
